The Artist

Today Was Yesterdays Beginnings

Through my paintings, I try to evoke a scene of memory that goes beyond the scope of everyday life.  If I can touch someone by the means of painting something that at one time enriched their soul, then I have accomplished my giving back to life which may have been lost with time.

As a young man, Keith Hopkins spent much of his time drawing.  He was fascinated by the aspect of rendering all subject matter with the stroke of a pencil.

While many children his age played and had hobbies, the American born artist created drawing after drawing, filling his scope of time.  As a young man he began entering many local art shows, gaining early recognition for his work.  Keith is now recognized for his watercolors of his extensive travels as well as his brilliant acrylics.  His work is collected by many private collectors, some of who are recognized artists as well.

Keith studied Fine Art in college, earning his Bachelor of Arts degree.  He continued studies in art throughout his career.  He was most inspired by Gary Pruener, a well known watercolor artist, whom he studied under and promoted his career.  Many other artists also have contributed to his success.  Their contribution of time and sharing of their craft were true gifts to himself and his career.

Most notably Keith recently unveiled a new series of paintings which have a hidden symbol somewhere in each painting.  This evokes in each person who views a particular subject matter to also look for the symbol of “the Hidden Shoe”.  “The Hidden Shoe”, symbolizes the importance of trust in love, friendship, and in GOD.  The concept was inspired by a very close friend who gave way to the artist to find new meaning in each of his works.

I humble myself before GOD each day.  He has graced me with abilities to communicate through my paintings.  I feel that I must give back part of my work in someway that would enable others to always know that when you see any of my pieces, that somewhere in it lies a power grater than ourselves.  I pray that through my abilities as an artist that I can share the importance of love, friendship and the grace of GOD.  --- Keith Hopkins

A highly collected artist, one to watch closely as his symbol of Life grows and grows!
